The pure pigments of soft pastel allow for simultaneous vibrancy and softness

About

A blessing can be found wrapped inside of a challenge

I have always been fascinated with the creation of art. My own expression did not develop until disability began to limit my physical activity.

I am an award winning artist who is disabled with FSH Muscular Dystrophy, the most common MD worldwide. A portion of the net proceeds from this site is donated to the www.fshsociety.org & www.fshfriends.org to help find a cure.

I enjoy painting with soft pastels. The pure pigments yield a sensuous feeling and allow for simultaneously creating vibrancy and softness. The other mediums that I work with are graphite and charcoal.

Creativity comes in many forms. I have learned to paint with my left hand since I am losing dexterity in my right arm. You can often see me painting with both hands, my left covering the expanse of the canvas while the right hand draws the details. I let both sides of the brain work it out.

When my work is going well I feel a sense of connection, fulfillment and tranquility. I hope my artwork imparts this to you, the viewer, as well.
